Spaghetti Dinner

Last night Braden made spaghetti for dinner. As you can see by the pictures ..... Caleb loved his dinner last night.

What you can't see is the fork in his right hand while he is shoveling food into his mouth with his left hand.

Yummy!

I know, we should have stopped Caleb from making this HUGE mess. But he was enjoying his meal, so we just let him do what he wanted.

After dinner (and a bath) we worked off some of the calories by dancing around the living room to "Glee"

18 Months Old (9/27/10)

My sweet baby boy turned 18 Months Old on Monday. I can't believe he is growing up so fast. But, I have enjoyed each stage as he has been growing up.

Caleb is the joy of my life. He makes me laugh and smile constantly. Braden and I feel quite blessed that he is such a good child. Caleb is learning so much on a daily basis. It is always amazing when he figures out something new. He likes for us to clap for him.

At Caleb's 18 Month Checkup he was 25lbs & 4 oz (45th percentile) & 34.5" tall (95th percentile). He is tall and skinny. Here are some pictures I took of my little monster while we were at the doctors office. I love the diaper & socks look :)

Random Pictures

Enjoy some pictures of Mr. Caleb

These were taken on the airplane ride to FL. Caleb and Daddy were listening to music.

Caleb & Braden were showering one day when I caught Braden lathering up Caleb to shave
(no razor was used)

"Mom, slow down, I am holding on for dear life"

SOOO tired

I was doing laundry one night and Braden put his socks on Caleb's hands & feet

I was taking Lexi on a walk and Caleb wanted to come too.
I allowed Caleb to walk instead of getting in his wagon.
Big Mistake - he kept taking a break and sitting down.

Caleb got to attend a friends birthday party recently.
It was an airplane theme and the decorations were amazing.

A Broken Heart

I write today to share sad news about a family who lost a child too early.

To all the prayer warriors, please pray for the Ladd & Knight family. I went to high school with Missy Knight (formerly Ladd). Her son passed away last night at the age of 4.
My selfish side was hopeful Samuel would out live us all and beat this disease. But I know he is now free from everything and God is taking care of him now in heaven. Samuel is free from oxygen and restraints. I imagine he is dancing with God eating lots of ice cream & brownies.

To read more about Samuel's short journey through this world, please check out his families blog missyknight.blogspot.com

Samuel was a warrior. He lost his battle with Mitochondrial Disease but now lives in heaven where he is pain free.

This loss reminds me to wake up each morning and praise God for giving me a beautiful, healthy child.

Weekend With The Great-Grandparents

Last weekend Braden, Caleb, and I went on a family vacation to see my Grandparents (Caleb's great-grandparents). My Pops had not met Braden or Caleb yet. My Grandmother had only met Braden at our wedding and Caleb at Jessica's wedding so she hadn't "really" gotten to know either of them yet. So, we loaded up our suitcases and flew to Florida.

We had a fantastic trip. Caleb walked into their house, found a basket full of balls, and he instantly fell in love with his great-grandparents. Grandmother kept us well fed and Pops entertained us with stories about my Dad, Uncles, Sisters, and Me. The four days flew by too fast and we were back home.

I took lots of pictures to commemorate our trip.

One big milestone on our trip was Caleb seeing the beach for the first time.
Grandmother & Pops live near the Atlantic Ocean, so we took Caleb to dip his feet in the water.

(it looks calm in the picture but there were plenty of waves)

We saw a crab

Caleb wanted to touch it - but we wouldn't let him

I just love my little blonde hair boy

continued ... Family Vacation to Florida

After we left the beach, we went back to Grandmother/Pops house for some more spoiling and fun.

I had to go into my Pop's computer room to download some of the pictures I had been taking onto his computer.
That is when I found this HILARIOUS sign.
"THIS ROOM IS MESSY
AS I LIKE IT -
WIFE NOT ALLOWED
TO CLEAN IN HERE
-MASTER OF THIS ROOM"

Caleb loved the spoons and bowls he got from Grandmother to play with

Braden taught Caleb how to bang on the bowl to make LOTS of noise

Then Grandmother taught Caleb how to jump off the stool

Saturday afternoon we went to the park for a bit

Grandmother made the BEST Lemon Pudding & Angel Food Cake
Can you tell how much Caleb L-O-V-E-D this dessert?

Sunday morning we had to say our Goodbyes
We took some last minute pictures with my grandparents
(yes, my Dad snuck into town and into my pictures)
