Fly, Fly, Fly Away

This past weekend Caleb and I flew to Pearland to visit his Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Jennifer (my older sister). This was a huge milestone for Caleb since it was his first time to fly in an airplane. He had a great time and did a great job on both flights. I fed Caleb on take off and landing to try and make sure his ears didn't hurt him. He was a good little boy and behaved so well. I had to remind him a couple times that he needed to use his inside voice (or squeal) but overall, I am a proud mommy.

Caleb loves to grab Braden's glasses. The other night after he grabbed them off of Braden's face, we put them on Caleb. He looks so cute. We are praying that Caleb gets my eye sight, not his Daddy's.

At the airport about to board the plane.
Yes, he spit up all over his shirt about 1 second before I snapped the picture.

Caleb had never really loved taking a pacifier. But, I keep trying it just in case it could help him while he is teething.
Sunday at church Caleb was talking (very loud). So, I gave him his pacifier. This is how Caleb thought he was supposed to use his pacifier.

5 Months Old

So, I am a couple days late on blogging for Caleb's 5 Month Birthday. Last Thursday, August 27 Caleb turned 5 months old. It is really hard to believe that my little munchkin is getting so big, so fast. I can remember the day he was born so vividly. I could not imagine loving someone more than that day. But, I fall deeper in love with my baby every day of his life.

Caleb at 5 months:
  • Wears 6-9 month size clothes (and some 3 months still)
  • Wears Size 2 diapers
  • Has 2 beautiful bottom teeth
  • Drools ALL the time - due to teething
  • Rolls around in his bed at night. We will put him to sleep on his back and he is on his tummy every morning.
  • Is starting to sleep a little better throughout the night
  • Loves bath time with warm water
  • Eats all organic food: apples, bananas, sweet potatoes, rice cereal (we will continue to add foods as he gets used to new flavors)
  • Loves to squeal at the top of his lungs (he thinks it is funny)
  • Gives open mouth, wet kisses
  • Sucks on his toes
  • Smiles and Laughs non-stop
  • Loves to vibrate in his bouncy seat
  • Loves to stand (with help, of course)
  • Loves his Daddy & Mommy

Caleb is 5 Months Old
Look at his sweet smile. I love this baby so much

Mom, look, I can put my fingers in my mouth
I couldn't resist posting this picture. I know he did not intend to do this mean gesture. This is how I think he feels when I am snapping away pictures of him. He hates to bright flash.

We miss you Aunt Bubba

Caleb's Aunt Jessica (better known as Bubba) has been gone for almost 2 weeks in Australia. She gets home tomorrow (Wed.) and we are all very excited to see her. Caleb misses his Aunt and can't wait to see her again.

Jessica (& her best friend Laura) visited the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane, Australia. It is the world's first and largest koala sanctuary, with over 130 koalas. You can cuddle a koala anytime, handfeed kangaroos and encounter a large variety of Aussie wildlife, all in beautiful, natural settings.

Have safe travels back to the USA and we will see you soon.
WE LOVE YOU AUNT JESSICA!

Caleb Goes to his First Birthday Party

Well, it was another fun filled weekend in the Howell Household.

Friday Braden, Caleb, Lexi (dog), and I loaded up the car and headed to the family lake house for the night. Braden's ski boat has been "broken" for a few weeks and we finally had time to go and get the boat out of the lake and to the repair shop. Thank you to Grandpa B & Uncle Barrett for their help with the boat.

Saturday we came back from the lake in time to go to a birthday party for Caleb's friend, James. James turned 1 last week and had a fun party with lots of his friends. Caleb had a great time and the party was another first for him. I am sure Caleb took notes on what he wants for his 1st Birthday Party.

Sunday was the usual church, lunch, errands, relax at home.

Caleb is growing up so fast and we treasure our weekends with him, watching him grow and change.

Since Caleb is teething, anything and everything he can get into his mouth, goes in his mouth

Aunt Jessica is traveling in Australia.
So, the next best thing, Uncle Matt, came over to visit.

Rough Weekend

Our weekend started off a little rough with Caleb having to be picked up from school on Friday because he had a temperature of 102.1 :(
I called the doctor immediately and got Caleb in to see him on Friday. It turns out he has an ear infection. So, the doctor prescribed "the bubble gum medicine" (Amoxicillin) and we started the weekend with a fussy, grumpy baby.
On top of the ear infection, Caleb's allergies are acting up. So I spent most of the day on Sunday cleaning and getting all the dust and dirt out of our home. It seems like the more I dust, the more dust that collects - go figure.
Anyway, Caleb is getting to spend today (Monday) home from school being loved and spoiled by his Nana B. He should feel better by tomorrow and return to school.

On Saturday night Caleb was running a slight temperature so we put a cool wash cloth on his head to help cool him off. The wash cloth was not working so I added the ice pack. I could not resist this cute picture of our sick, little baby.

Lots of Hugs and Tummy Bugs

It was another wild weekend at our house.
Grandma & Grandpa Morina came into town on Thursday evening. Friday Caleb got to stay home from school and hang out with his grandparents while Mommy & Daddy went to work. He had a fabulous day being spoiled rotten. Friday night Aunt Jennifer arrived into town to join the rest of the family for a weekend of family fun. Saturday the whole family went on a shopping trip to Grapevine Mills. It was a good day full of lots of shopping and walking around the outlet center. Saturday night we all went to dinner at Hully & Mo's to celebrate Aunt Jessica turning 25 [HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUBBA!). It was a wonderful dinner and I think Jessica had a good weekend with the family.
Unfortunately, I spent all day Sunday and Monday in bed with a bad tummy bug. I have no idea what happened, just that I was in lots of tummy pain. Needless to say, I am feeling better now. Thank you to the worlds BEST husband for taking such good care of me and for watching Caleb while I recovered.

A blog would not be complete without lots of pictures of our main man, Caleb. Enjoy!

Every night when I am standing at the sink washing out bottles, this is where you can find Lexi (aka My Shadow)

Look at me, I am a big boy sitting up in my Bumbo Chair

Lexi wanted to have her picture taken after all the pictures of Caleb

Braden recently started reading the book "365 activities to do with your child". It is a great book with activity ideas for all age groups.
One of the activities was to draw a happy face on a paper plate and move it around so your child has to turn his head and look from side to side and up and down. Braden enhanced the activity to start teaching Caleb his numbers.
Here they are learning the number 4 with pictures of 4 Footballs.

Now Caleb it teaching Daddy about the number 4.

Then Caleb wanted to eat the plate

Here is another picture of Caleb's beautiful, sharp 2 Front Teeth

My sweet, precious baby boy

I love this cute, naked bottom

Ever since Caleb cut his 2 teeth, he has been sucking on his bottom lip and making the funniest sounds.

Isn't he the most handsome baby boy in the world?

Last, but not least, Braden and I got a brand new Water Heater this week. It is beautiful and puts out lots of wonderful hot water.
