2 TEETH

That is right, our little man has cut 2 TEETH. It is so hard to believe that he is growing up so fast and now has 2 teeth. Seriously! He is only 4 months (and 3 days) old. I want him to stay a baby a little longer.
It all started a couple weeks ago when Caleb started drooling a lot and chewing on anything he could get into his mouth (toys, burp cloth, hands, feet, my fingers, bib, etc). We knew he was teething but thought we had a couple months to get ready for the actual teeth. Then this morning I was playing with Caleb and he put my finger into his mouth. I instantly felt something a little sharp and looked to see what it was. Much to my surprise, 2 small white teeth have come through his gums. The 2 front, bottom teeth are coming in.

The 2 small white dots are teeth breaking through the skin

The other night we were sitting outside on the back deck. Caleb had crossed his legs and looked so funny so we took some pictures.

CALEB REID IS 4 MONTHS OLD

Wow how time flies when you are having fun! It is hard to believe that Caleb is already 4 months old. It seems like only yesterday I was pregnant and anticipating Caleb's arrival.
We had our 4 month well visit with the pediatrician yesterday. He says that Caleb is growing right on schedule and looks great.

His stats:
27.25" Long
15lbs 8oz
17.25" head

Caleb gets to start eating some baby cereal now and working towards fruits and vegetables. It should be an interesting next two months as he learns to eat.

Caleb at 4 Months:
  • Wears 3-6 month size clothes
  • Wears Size 1 diapers
  • Loves laying on his changing table pad
  • Loves to laugh and smile
  • Recognizes his Mommy & Daddy
  • Loves to look at himself in the mirror (he gets that from his dad)
  • Loves to suck on his hands (and anything else he can get into his mouth)
  • Kicks all the time (once he learns to run, we will be exhausted trying to keep up with him)
  • Belly laughs when you tickle his belly
  • Can hold his head up almost perfectly
  • Is working on rolling over from back to tummy and tummy to back
  • Loves to pet Lexi (our dog)
  • Still loves to sleep swaddled in a blanket
  • Goes to bed at 8:30pm; wakes up 3:00am then back to sleep until 7:30am. We are still working on sleeping straight through the night.

Weekend Update

It was a good weekend for the Howell Trio.
I just joined the Junior League so I went on an overnight retreat to meet some of the other new members. We socialized and learned more about the Jr League. I met lots of new women who I will work with for the next year and serve with in the Dallas community. While I had a great time, I missed my boys very much.
Not to worry, Braden took Caleb to the family lake house to be spoiled rotten by his grandparents. They golfed and tinkered on the boat. I think Braden and Caleb had a great "boys night away."
Here are some recent photos of our Main Man, Caleb:

Caleb's Grandpa (Morina) is a pilot by hobby. I found this shirt and thought it was super cute.

Caleb loves to chew on anything he can find. A friend recommended Sophie The Giraffe and he has loved her since we got her.

Our Baby Is Growing Up

Caleb is growing up before our eyes. My baby is turning into such a big boy. The other night I put Caleb to bed looking like this photo.....

Our Little Burrito Baby

When I went to get Caleb out of bed in the morning he had rolled onto his tummy and kicked free of his Miracle Swaddle blanket.
WAY TO GO! You can turn over now!

He is just SO good looking!
I couldn't resist buying these cute little plaid pants.

Caleb fell asleep on Braden's chest the other night.
So Cute!

Fun Weekend!

It was a miserably hot weekend in Dallas. The temperature has been in the 100's and the humidity is horrible. Even with the heat, we had a great weekend.

Friday night we took Caleb to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, Matt's. He was a happy boy (some would say a real Chick Magnet)!
Jessica (lil sis) and her boyfriend Matt were in Temple this weekend. Braden and I got to watch after their baby, Lola.

Saturday we went to a Sunday School Lake Party. Caleb was a great baby the whole day. I think the heat started to make him tired.

And later he fell asleep on my chest.

Sunday after church we went to lunch at Cheesecake Factory. Isn't Caleb such a big boy sitting up in my lap?

Happy 5 Year Anniversary

As of June 7th I have officially been working for Neiman Marcus for 5 years. The day came and went without even thinking about the fact that it was my 5 year anniversary. Then yesterday during a division meeting, my boss presented me with a wonderful 5 Year Anniversary gift that the company gives out. It was quite an honor.

The 5 Year Anniversary Gift is an Orrefors Crystal bowl with the inscription

Caleb's 1st Fourth of July

I hope everyone had a very Happy 4th of July.
It was a great weekend for the Howell Household. We journeyed down to Pearland to see my family and to celebrate Caleb's 1st Fourth of July. My parents host an annual 4th of July party every year so it was a nice long weekend full of swimming, sun, strawberry daiquiris, and partying. I think Caleb really enjoyed the pool but couldn't quite make it to the fireworks display.

Enjoy our pictures of the fun weekend in Pearland.

Lexi was one tired dog by the end of the day. She found a quite spot away from everyone and fell asleep.

Daddy was also tired by the end of the weekend
