Howell Trio Update

So, I have not been good at keeping up with the Family Blog. But, my time is not my own anymore. All my time is devoted to being a mom and wife. It is a full time job and keeping me very busy.

Life in the Howell Household has been crazy.
Daddy Braden: Braden is working hard every day. He gets up early, goes to work, and gets home at a decent hour to spend some time with Caleb and me. I know it must be hard to be away from our precious son all day but he is doing a great job.
Mommy Rebecca: I am enjoying my time off work on maternity leave. It is a blessing to be able to spend the first 12 weeks of Caleb's life with him every day. Caleb loves being out and about so we go on little adventures every day. Caleb is going to learn to love going shopping with me :)
Caleb: Caleb is growing up too fast. He has changed so much in his 7 weeks of life. I am amazed and in awe of him daily. He loves to play, sing, nap, and eat. His big, beautiful smiles will melt your heart.
Lexi: Our little Lexi Dog is doing so good with her little brother Caleb. We were worried she would be jealous but it turns out she is a good protector. She loves to lick his feet when he is crying. I think she thinks it helps calm him down.

Mother's Day 2009
Braden, Caleb, and I spent my first Mother's Day in Pearland with my Mom, Dad and older sister Jennifer. It was nice to get away for a weekend and spend time with my family. My mom got the chance to be a proud new Grandma and show off Caleb to her friends.

New York for 24 hours
One of my sorority sisters from college, Alicia, got married in New York on May 16. Braden and I made the quick trip to New York to be there to see her marry Mr. Adam Rico. It was a wonderful wedding and we are so happy we could make it.

The hardest part of the trip was leaving Caleb behind. It was our first time to be without him for a night (or longer than 3 hours). We missed him terribly but left him in good hands with his Aunt Jennifer (my big sis). We are so grateful to have a sister like Jen to take care of our little munchkin while we were away. I know Caleb enjoyed his time with his Aunt.

Here are some recent pictures of our little man and family. Enjoy!

Braden is part of the Rotary Club of Dallas. As part of the rotary club he is a mentor to a local high school student (Gus). Recently the Mentors & Mentees were honored in an art exhibit. Caleb and I attended the presentation.

Our Future Horned Frog

One night our wonderful neighbor, Donna, made us homemade eggrolls and fried rice. She brought over all the plates, placemats, napkins, candles, etc. It was such a treat to sit down and eat dinner together.

Every once in awhile Caleb has a way of peeing through his diaper and all over the person holding him; Braden got to experience this pleasure recently

Hey Rebecca - I just found your blog again. Your little guy is such a cutie. I enjoyed reading your posts and keeping caught up. Anyways, I added your blog to my blog list. We still need to get together some time. When do you go back to work?
