College Game Day Comes to TCU

That's right - You heard me correctly - ESPN College Game Day will be broadcasting LIVE from TCU this Saturday. This is a HUGE deal for us since Braden and I are both Horned Frogs.

GO FROGS! BEAT UTAH!

I got this from a friend of mine and thought it was cute:

Twas the week of College Gameday and all through Cowtown, not a FROG fan was sleeping. We can't settle down. The HORNED FROGS will practice, and new unis they'll wear, in hopes that Lee Corso will soon be there. The students try sleeping all snug in their beds, while visions of Gameday signs, ESPN cameras, HORNED FROG fans, SuperFROG, Chris, Lee, Des, Kirk, and riff rams dance in their heads... ♥ GO FROGS!

Crazy Week with Grandma

So, last week my mom (Grandma) came to town to visit Caleb. She stayed all week so Caleb got to stay home from school and play with Grandma ALL WEEK LONG. In true Grandma nature, she spoiled him rotten. They played, took naps, took walks, went shopping, had lunch with Nana B, had lunch with Aunt Jessica, and came downtown to have lunch with me. It was a busy week for them both and they wore each other out. My mom had to go home on Saturday morning so I didn't get to spend too much time with her. But, she came to see her favorite Grandson and had the chance to do just that.

Our weekend was quite busy too. Saturday I had a Junior League meeting in the morning then my boys and I met up with some of my sorority sisters and their husbands (Alicia, Adam, Sasha, Jeff, Katie, & Sam) at Alicia's lake house in Granbury. We had a great time seeing everyone and socializing. We all live pretty close but with life being so busy, we don't get together often enough.
Sunday we went to church, lunch with our friends Kate& Chad, shopping for Christmas Card picture outfits, then Wal-Mart. We ran home to make a quick dinner to take over to the In-Laws (my mom-in-law had knee surgery on Friday - she is at home recovery well). Needless to say, Braden, Caleb, and I were exhausted last night when we finally got home and relaxed.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Here are a few pictures from Caleb's week with Grandma. I will post more when Grandma sends me the pictures she took.

Thanks for putting down the protective cushion before putting my baby in a shopping cart

Grandma taught Caleb how to drink from a sippy cup while she was in town. Thank you for helping Caleb grow up just a little faster.

I love these two very much

Role Reversal - The First Parent-Teacher Conference

I thought it was time for dad to chime in again since I know it's been a LONG time; and what better topic for me than Caleb's first parent-teacher conference at his daycare. That's right, we had a parent-teacher conference for our seven month-old son! I remember parent-teacher conferences about as fondly as I remember being called for jury duty, spending a day in traffic court, or one of the many times went to the hospital for an array of injuries I had as a kid. For me, since I was not exactly a straight-A students, there was a lot of agonizing suspense building up to the moment of the actual conference where I was usually embarrassed in front of my parents as my teachers ran down the standing list of grievances: doesn't pay attention, seems uninspired, needs to focus more, etc., etc., etc.

Like I said, I wasn't the best student!

However, approaching Caleb's first parent-teacher conference, I was as nervous and uncomfortable as I was when I was 14. It was the weirdest thing. I was nervous about what the teacher would say about my little angel, Caleb. I know he's perfect. I know he's the smartest, most athletic, best looking child in the class, but what if there is something wrong with the teacher and she doesn't see what I see?

Is this how my parents felt before each conference? Were they nervous about what the teacher would say? Were they worried that there was something I was doing in school that they didn't know about and needed to be addressed? And did they decide on appropriate punishments for me before they even went into the conference??

It was the strangest feeling being on the other side of a parent-teacher conference for the first time, but I am thrilled to report that there is absolutely nothing wrong with Caleb's teachers; they see exactly the same perfect baby Rebecca and I see at home.

Other than needing to work on some identifying objects and head turning, Caleb is right on track and doing great in school.

If only the conferences could have gone this well for my parents....

Braden's 10 Year Reunion

This past weekend was Braden's 10 Year High School Reunion (Go Hornets!). Braden attended Greenhill for 13 years (kindergarten thru 12th grade) so he has lots of fond memories.
Friday night was the alumni cookout and happy hour. Braden had a great time showing off Caleb and seeing old teachers and staff of the school. The actual reunion was on Saturday night. Braden was the official Reunion Planner and did a great job. There was a good percentage of his classmates who showed up for Sangria & Tapas at Cafe Madrid. I got to meet a lot of Braden's old friends and hear lots of great stories. I am so proud of Braden for planning and executing a fun evening.

Most mornings when I am getting ready for work, I bring Caleb's bouncy seat into the bathroom so we can talk and play as I get ready.
The other morning I stepped into the closet to get my clothes, and this is what I found when I came back ....
RUN AWAY BABY!

Caleb still loves to eat his toes
Such a handsome, little man

Cutest Baby In The World

This morning when I got Caleb out of his crib, his diaper had leaked a little bit onto his pajamas. I wasn't ready to get him ready for school yet so I put him in his cute, little bathrobe.
Seriously, he is the cutest baby in the world. I love him SO much.
XOXO
