Thanksgiving 2009

Thanksgiving 2009 was lots of fun. It was Caleb's First Thanksgiving and we have so many things to be thankful for.
Braden, Caleb, and I spent Thanksgiving with friends and family at the Howell Lake House. We ate, drank, and had a great time.

Wednesday night when we arrived, Uncle Barrett was entertaining Caleb by making his beer bottle whistle.
Then, Caleb had to give it a try.
Nana B bought Caleb this fun Pooh Bear Push-N-Ride Airplane
Caleb played and played on the airplane

And played

And played

Caleb loves to sit in his high chair when it is time to eat.

Uncle Barrett loves to play with Caleb

Caleb thanks Uncle Barrett by biting his leg

Caleb is getting 4 more teeth (all at once)
So, yes, that is drool dripping off his chin :)

At the end of the day, Caleb was tired

Barrett & Amy brought their cat, Suki, to Thanksgiving.
Suki intimidated the big dogs

After lunch we had Arts & Crafts making Popcorn Ball Turkeys

Then, when everyone was full, we relaxed on the back porch

Our sweet doggy, Lexi, joined us at the lake too
Thank you to Nana B & Papa for hosting Thanksgiving and make Caleb's 1st memorable.

Jessica is ENGAGED

On Thanksgiving morning my family (minus me, Braden, and Caleb) plus Matt's family all ran the Annual Turkey Trot. After the run Matt (finally) proposed. Jessica was surprised and (thankfully) said Yes.

We are so excited to add another member to the family.
CONGRATULATIONS MATT & JESSICA
*More pictures will be posted once I receive them.

New Moon Mania

So, I do not consider myself a Twilight Saga fanatic. But, after listening to all the women I work with talk about the Twilight 4 Book Series, I started to get a little more interested. I have still not read any of the books - who has time when raising an 8 month old and working full time??

Anyway, this past weekend (opening weekend) I went to see "New Moon" with a work friend and her daughter. It was really good. My favorite part of the whole movie ..... when Jacob takes off his shirt!! Now, I know he is only 17 years old. But when I was 17 - boys did not look like this!

Being a Mommy is THE BEST

The last couple nights have just confirmed what I have known for 34 weeks .... being Caleb's Mommy is the best job in the whole entire world. Day after day I fall more in love with my little pumpkin head. He is the joy of my life. I find myself getting excited to get him out of bed each morning and enjoy holding him each night as he falls asleep. He smile lights up his face which brightens my day. When I am having a bad day at work and just want to go home and go to bed - all I have to do is see my sweet baby's face and I get a renewed level of energy.

So, as Thanksgiving is coming up I thought it was appropriate to list some of the things I am thankful for when it comes to Mr. Caleb Reid

I am thankful for
  • Caleb's good health - There are too many babies in the world who are sick. I thank God every day for Caleb's health. I will try my hardest to keep him healthy.
  • Baby hair - Caleb's hair is now long enough for me to comb into a mohawk
  • Caleb's belly & feet - Which make him laugh when I tickle him.
  • Cute Bottoms - Which make my want to pinch his little hiney every time I see him.
  • Baby Hands - Which hold my hand and reach out for me when I walk into the room.
  • Musical toys - Which make Caleb bounce to the music.
  • Caleb's sweet smile - He brightens my life with each smile.
  • Nursery songs - Caleb loves it when I sing and dance for him.
  • Sophia Giraffe - Caleb's teething toy which he LOVES and could not live without.
  • Lexi (our dog) - She lets Caleb be rough and love on her without snapping or biting. She loves to lick his face and ran around to make him laugh.
  • Braden - Without him, I would not be a Mommy.
  • Braden - Who is the best Daddy in the world to our son. Caleb adores his Daddy.
  • Grandparents - Who spoil Caleb
  • Aunts & Uncles - Who always give their love and attention to Caleb
  • Ms. Marvetta & Marta - Caleb's teachers who love on him while I am at work
  • Caleb - Who has made my life so much brighter.

I LOVE YOU MY LITTLE MAN!

Proud to be a Horned Frog

Saturday night was a BIG NIGHT at TCU. Braden and I are both alumni and wore our purple proud all day. Braden and his Dad went to the game while Caleb and I stayed home and cheered from Dallas.
TCU beat Utah (55 to 28)! This puts us one step closer to a BCS Bowl Game.

GO FROGS!!

Caleb is rarely allowed to watch TV. But, we allowed it so he could see ESPN College Game Day LIVE from TCU on Saturday morning.

Caleb and I went shopping before the game started.
I love this hat. Caleb did not.

Saturday night was a late night. Caleb let me know when he was tired.

Grandpa Comes to Town

Last week was a fun filled busy week in the Howell Household. My Dad came into town for a night to see Caleb. It was the longest he had been (over a month) without seeing Caleb. Caleb is changing and growing so much every day, that after not seeing him for a whole month he is doing so much more.

Caleb fell sleep one night before I could get him in his pajamas. He was so cute laying on his changing table.
Sound asleep

Caleb, thank you for spitting up just as we snapped the photo

Thursday night Braden had to work late, I took this picture so we could send it to him and say "Night Night Daddy"

Caleb LOVES watching Lexi (the dog) run around. It always makes him laugh so loud
